Today in Paris, designer Matthieu Blazy debuted his fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection for Chanel, filled with exciting new takes on the French label’s signature tweeds and skirt suits. Better yet, the show saw the palatial Grand Palais setting transformed into a chic construction zone, outfitted with giant colorful cranes. (The show was to celebrate “works in progress,” hence the thematic set.) When it’s a Chanel show, after all, the space is always theatrical and larger-than-life—just like when Blazy transformed an abandoned New York City subway station into his pre-fall venue.

Blazy’s front row for the presentation today, meanwhile, was its very own spectacle to behold. Stars such as Margot Robbie (who unveiled a new bob!), Jennie, Teyana Taylor, Oprah, Kylie Minogue, Gemini, Olivia Dean, and more all showed up in support of the grand event—decked out in their finest Chanel attire, of course.

While models like Paloma Elsesser leaned into the classic uptown Chanel skirt suit, other attendees went more unexpected routes—like Robbie in her sheer tank and gauzy trouser from the spring 2026 couture collection, or Lily Rose-Depp in her full-on animal print Metiers d’art ensemble. Jennie even wore a fully-transparent netted skirt suit: The perfect mix of Old Chanel meets New Chanel.

Given the starry guest list, then, Vogue simply had to document more of the front-row action, so we enlisted photographer German Larkin to document these notable names in their VIP seats. Below, scroll on as Larkin caught all of the candid moments between stars. (Come for the Teyana-Margot embrace, stay for the Oprah-Kylie meet-cute.) Plus, we asked them to weigh in on the inspiration behind their outfits, as well as their favorite looks from the show—and what their favorite French words are.

What inspired your show look today?

“I'm just wearing a casual tank, jeans, and jacket—it's no big deal, it's just a couture version! The jacket is made of this really light, beautiful chiffon. It's from Mathieu's last collection, his first couture collection.”

What did you think of the show?

“I loved the belted drop-waist skirts with the big blazers. Anything with the iridescent fabric was so fun. The bags were insane—there were, like, a thousand bags that I would want. The shoes and sassy little glasses were great. The music is always great at his shows, too. Gaga came on, and all the girlies started bobbing. Everyone was like, ‘Okay, we’re ready to party.'”

The show was themed around celebrating works-in-progress. What’s something you’re currently working on?

"I have been trying to learn French for years."

What's your favorite French word?

“You know what I love? ‘Coucou!’ ‘Hi!’ So cute.”

The first legs of the Champions League's Round of 16 were only half of the stories, and the rest of them are still to be told over the next two nights of fascinating drama. Follow all the action and find out who will make the quarter-finals in our live tracker!

Wednesday's highlights:

• Barcelona thrashed a hapless Newcastle in a 7-2 demolition to seal a spot in the quarter-finals as Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha netted braces

• It's a huge night at Anfield, as an out-of-form Liverpool attempt to overturn a one-goal deficit against Turkish giants Galatasaray

• Staying in England, Igor Tudor's Tottenham welcome Atletico Madrid to London, as the Spanish side look to complete the job after last week's 5-2 victory

• Armed with a commanding five-goal lead, Bayern Munich should have a stress-free evening when they take on Atalanta at the Allianz Arena

Wednesday's matches:

Barcelona 7-2 Newcastle (8-3 agg.)

Bayern Munich 4-1 Atalanta (10-2 agg.) - latest

Liverpool 4-0 Galatasaray (4-1 agg.) - latest

Tottenham 3-2 Atletico Madrid (5-7 agg.) - latest

Key updates and insights:

22:35 CET - Atleti have pegged Spurs back again through defender David Hancko, making it 7-4 on aggregate with just over 10 minutes to go. That's surely the end of the English side's European campaign.

22:24 CET - This has turned into the dream night for Liverpool, with Salah now making amends for his earlier penalty miss but cutting inside and curling a beauty into the far corner. That's surely that for the tie.

22:17 CET - Arne Slot's boys are running rampant now! Ryan Gravenberch has extended their lead by firing in a rebound from the edge of the box to give them a two-goal cushion on aggregate. That's the Dutchman's first Champions League goal since 25th November 2020, when he scored for Ajax against Midtjylland.

Bayern have three on the night too courtesy of Kane and Lennart Karl, who has completed a lovely team move. That's 9-1 to the German side on aggregate now.

22:12 - Liverpool have a second and so do Spurs!

At Anfield, Hugo Ekitike has fired in a ball across the box from Salah to put Liverpool ahead for the first time in the tie.

In North London, Xavi Simons has put Spurs ahead again, giving them the smallest glimmer of hope.

22:07 CET - It may well be game over for Spurs, with the English side making a nightmare start to the second, conceding after just two minutes.

Julian Alvarez has made it 1-1 and 6-3 on aggregate by putting the finishing touches on a blistering counter-attack.

21:51 CET - Half-time across Europe, and we have some interesting storylines being generated. Liverpool have been dominant against Galatasaray, but have spurned some massive chances to only lead 1-0 on the night.

Bayern are in control against Atalanta with Harry Kane netting a penalty to put them 1-0 up in the second leg and 7-1 up on aggregate. Spurs are making it interesting against Atletico Madrid, and they are now just two goals down having taken the lead through Randal Kolo Muani.

21:48 CET - Liverpool miss a golden chance! After they are given a penalty, Mo Salah steps up to give them the lead in the tie over Galatasaray, but the Egyptian seemingly fluffs a panenka to see it saved easily. Still all level in the tie.

21:31 CET - Is there life in Tottenham?! They have reduced the arrears to two in North London, with Randal Kolo Muani scoring the opener on the night against Atletico Madrid.

Is the comeback on?

21:25 CET - Liverpool lead Galatasaray, and it's their starman, Dominik Szoboszlai! Found on the edge of the area from a corner, the Hungarian sweeps home the opener.

Game on at Anfield!

Meanwhile, in Germany, Harry Kane has taken the lead for Bayern Munich against Atalanta, with a penalty at the second time of asking. That's his 15th goal from a spot kick this season from his tally of 46.

21:22 CET - With two of the ties looking all but over, Liverpool and Galatasaray have the most evenly poised encounter, and the visitors have been doing their best to 'disrupt' the game. The ball has been in play for just over 50% of the time so far, meaning neither side have found their tempo.

21:10 CET - No goals so far in the opening exchanges, but plenty of controversy around Victor Osimhen at Anfield. He is down after a tackle from Ibrahima Konate, where the Nigerian striker is holding his wrist. After a protracted time on the ground, he remonstrates with Liverpool's players about the severity of his knock, but he will continue. Feisty stuff.

21:00 CET - Nine goals in the early game, how many more are we in for with the three late games? They are all underway, here we go!

20:42 CET - All over dead on the 90' at Camp Nou, which tells you everything you need to know about Barcelona's thrashing of Newcastle.

It was 2-2 at the break after an end-to-end first half, but Barcelona turned on the style in the second half, taking advantage of a porous Newcastle backline to score five and book their spot in the last eight.

Flick: Yamal can make the difference for Barcelona vs. Newcastle

Hansi Flick praises Lamine Yamal and speaks about Barcelona's Champions League hopes.

Barcelona put on a thrilling second-half show to rout Newcastle United 7-2 at the Camp Nou and progress to the Champions League quarterfinals 8-3 on aggregate.

After an entertaining back-and-forth first half, which concluded with Lamine Yamal putting the home side ahead for the third time, Barcelona tore Newcastle apart in the second half with four unanswered goals to decimate the Premier League side's challenge.

Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski both scored twice, with the Spanish champions' other goals coming from Marc Bernal and Fermín López.

Anthony Elanga scored twice in the first half to temporarily keep Newcastle's hopes alive of a famous upset against the five-time European champions.

Neither side will have been happy with their defensive display, but Barcelona eventually took a chaotic game by the scruff of the neck to punish a series of errors as the visitors succumbed to largely self-inflicted wounds.

The seven goals equals the most Barcelona has scored in a Champions League knockout match, after a 7-1 against Bayer Leverkusen at the same stage of the competition in 2011-12.

Newcastle's seven goals conceded, meanwhile, is tied for the most in a game by an English team in UEFA competitions, after Tottenham's 7-2 loss to Bayern Munich in October 2019.

Tied at 1-1 after the first leg in Newcastle, Barcelona went ahead twice in the first 20 minutes and twice Newcastle soon leveled with rare goals from Elanga. The Sweden winger had not scored in 35 previous games this season in the Premier League or Champions League yet struck twice in a 13-minute spell at Camp Nou.

Momentum swung when Yamal scored a penalty with the last kick of the half to give Barcelona a lead at 3-2 it would not give up again. Last week, the 18-year-old Yamal's penalty deep in stoppage time denied Newcastle a first-leg win.

LaLiga again topped the Premier League one day after Real Madrid won 2-1 at Manchester City to complete a 5-1 aggregate score. In Madrid, captain Federico Valverde's first-half hat trick had swatted Man City aside.

Later Wednesday, Atletico Madrid will start 5-2 up on Tottenham in the second leg of their round-of-16 clash.

Barcelona and Atletico will meet in the quarterfinals if the Madrid club protects its first-leg lead in north London.

Barcelona are scoring for fun at Camp Nou this year. It's now eight games at home in the Champions League, LaLiga or Copa del Rey and Barcelona has won all eight, getting at least three goals each time.

Seven against Newcastle was coach Hansi Flick's best yet, started by Raphinha's sixth-minute shot --finishing a move where two Newcastle defenders slipped to the turf -- then 18-year-old Bernal found space alone in the goalmouth in the 18th.

Barcelona's fast start to the second half saw López run clear on to slick passes from Gerard Martín to Raphinha and score with a well-placed shot.

Lewandowski scored with a header then a lashed shot before Raphinha got his second, and Barcelona's seventh, in the 72nd when a Newcastle defender misplayed the ball across the penalty area.

A recent investigation by The New York Times has brought renewed attention to the legacy of César Chávez, one of the most influential figures in the history of farmworker rights in the United States. The report presents serious allegations that are prompting public debate, institutional reactions, and a broader reassessment of how historical icons are remembered in light of new information.

A serious investigation into the legacy of Cesar Chavez

A recent report by The New York Times has brought forward troubling allegations involving civil rights leader César Chávez. The investigation includes claims of abuse and misconduct, sparking widespread reactions and debate across the United States.

These revelations are leading many to reconsider how history remembers influential figures, while others emphasize the importance of continuing the fight for workers’ rights beyond any one individual.

* Many leaders emphasize:

Here’s a deep, structured breakdown of the investigation —based on the New York Times reporting and corroborating coverage—plus a clear explanation of how credible it is and how such journalism is verified.

🧾 1. Structure of the NYT investigation (section by section)

Even without quoting the full article, we can reconstruct its key sections from multiple reliable reports:

1) Introduction: A major re-examination of a historical figure

The investigation centers on César Chávez, long considered a civil rights icon.

  • The article frames a contrast between legacy and allegations

  • It signals a multi-year investigation, not a breaking rumor

👉 This framing is typical of serious investigative journalism: start with impact, then evidence.

2) Core allegations from multiple women

The report presents testimonies from several women, including:

  • Claims of sexual abuse involving minors

  • Allegations of repeated misconduct over years

  • Accounts tied to Chávez’s leadership role in the movement

📌 Key detail:

  • At least two women say abuse happened when they were teenagers (The Daily Beast)

👉 This section builds the case through pattern, not a single accusation.

3) Testimony from Dolores Huerta

This is the most significant and credible part of the report:

  • She accuses Chávez of:

    • Coercion and rape in the 1960s

    • Abuse of power within the movement

  • She says she stayed silent for decades to protect the cause

  • Her claims include two pregnancies resulting from these encounters (Reuters)

👉 Why this matters:

  • She is a co-founder of the movement (not an outsider)

  • Her testimony is first-hand, detailed, and public

4) Evidence of a broader pattern

The investigation reportedly:

  • Spanned several years

  • Included interviews with 60+ people (The Daily Beast)

  • Identified multiple victims and witnesses

👉 This section is crucial:
Investigations gain credibility when they show:

  • Repeated behavior

  • Independent sources

  • Consistent timelines

5) Context: Power dynamics and silence

The article explains why allegations remained hidden:

  • Fear of damaging the farmworker movement

  • Gender imbalance and authority structures

  • Lack of institutional accountability at the time

👉 This is typical in historical abuse cases—context helps explain delayed reporting, which is often misunderstood.

6) Reactions and consequences

Following publication:

  • Events honoring Chávez were canceled nationwide

  • Organizations like the United Farm Workers distanced themselves

  • Public officials called the allegations “indefensible” (The Guardian)

👉 This section shows real-world impact, which strengthens the importance of the investigation.

🔍 2. How credible are these claims?

✅ Factors that increase credibility

1) Multi-year investigation

  • Not a quick story → indicates deep research

  • Journalists had time to verify, cross-check, and challenge sources

2) Multiple independent sources

  • Several victims + witnesses

  • Not reliant on one testimony

3) High-profile primary witness

  • Dolores Huerta is:

    • Directly involved

    • Historically credible

    • Taking reputational risk by speaking

4) Corroboration

  • Interviews with dozens of people

  • Consistent accounts across sources

5) Institutional responses

  • UFW and public officials reacting seriously

  • Events canceled → indicates claims are taken as credible, not dismissed

⚠️ Factors that limit certainty

1) No legal trial (yet / possible ever)

  • Chávez died in 1993 → cannot be prosecuted

  • No courtroom standard of proof

2) Historical allegations

  • Events from the 1960s–70s

  • Physical evidence may be limited

3) Reliance on testimony

  • Still strong, but depends on credibility and consistency

👉 Conclusion on credibility:
This is highly credible investigative journalism, but not a legal verdict.
It meets strong journalistic standards, though it cannot reach judicial certainty.

🧠 3. How investigations like this are verified

Major outlets like The New York Times follow strict methods:

🧩 1) Source verification

  • Confirm identity of each witness

  • Check their connection to events

  • Evaluate motives and consistency

🔗 2) Corroboration

  • No major claim is published without:

    • At least 2 independent sources

    • Or documents + testimony

📂 3) Documentary evidence

Examples:

  • Letters, internal records, recordings

  • Historical archives

🧪 4) Cross-checking timelines

  • Dates, locations, and events are verified

  • Stories must align with known history

⚖️ 5) Right of response

  • Journalists contact:

    • Family

    • Organizations (e.g., UFW)

  • Their responses are included

🧠 6) Editorial & legal review

  • Lawyers review for defamation risk

  • Editors challenge weak points before publication

🧾 Final takeaway

  • The investigation represents a serious, high-standard journalistic effort

  • It presents multiple consistent testimonies, including from a central historical figure

  • While not a legal judgment, it is strong enough to trigger:

    • Institutional reactions

    • Public reassessment of a major historical legacy

  > The movement is bigger than one person, and support for workers should continue despite these revelations. ([The Guardian][4])
